Sens is one of a few French towns with a youth baseball team. Since the team's beginning, baseball in general has grown in popularity in the town.

Famous quotes containing the word sports:

    Sweet smiling village, loveliest of the lawn,
    Thy sports are fled and all thy charms withdrawn;
    Amidst thy bowers the tyrant’s hand is seen,
    And desolation saddens all thy green;
    One only master grasps the whole domain,
    And half a tillage stints thy smiling plain;
    Oliver Goldsmith (1730?–1774)

    Guys do not have a genetic blueprint that allows them to understand or love sports.
    Lesley Visser, U.S. sports reporter and announcer. As quoted in Sports Illustrated, p. 82 (June 17, 1991)
