Seng Kang Primary School - Intake

Intake

In 1998 when it first operated in Sengkang, being the only school then, it had an intake of 11 classes of 40 pupils in the first half of the year. In the second semester, another class of 40 pupils was added to the already large cohort.

In 2001, many of the students in Seng Kang Primary transferred to Nan Chiau Primary School.

After more Primary schools started in Sengkang, the intake of students dropped to an all time low in 2004, with only five Primary One classes, compared to 12 classes in 1998.

However, its pioneer Seng Kang batch of 1997 graduated in 2002 with 15 classes, the highest in Singapore for that year.

The intake started to increase in 2005 and in 2007, there were 13 classes in Primary One. As of now, the intake of students is approximately 1,600.
