Foundation
Selfish Cunt was formed in 2003 at the start of a post-punk revival. Blackburn-born frontman Tomlinson was working in theatre, while guitarist Patrick Constable was playing in the art-rock band Dirty Snow. Tomlinson stated: "We decided to do Selfish Cunt because although we're from really different practices, the connection is music."
After touring small clubs, mainly in London, the duo released the single "Britain Is Shit" / "Fuck The Poor"; a second single, "Authority Confrontation", briefly entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 66.

Famous quotes containing the word foundation:
“In a country where misery and want were the foundation of the social structure, famine was periodic, death from starvation common, disease pervasive, thievery normal, and graft and corruption taken for granted, the elimination of these conditions in Communist China is so striking that negative aspects of the new rule fade in relative importance.”
—Barbara Tuchman (1912–1989)
“Beautiful credit! The foundation of modern society. Who shall say that this is not the golden age of mutual trust, of unlimited reliance upon human promises? That is a peculiar condition of society which enables a whole nation to instantly recognize point and meaning in the familiar newspaper anecdote, which puts into the mouth of a distinguished speculator in lands and mines this remark:M”I wasn’t worth a cent two years ago, and now I owe two millions of dollars.””
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
“The most excellent and divine counsel, the best and most profitable advertisement of all others, but the least practised, is to study and learn how to know ourselves. This is the foundation of wisdom and the highway to whatever is good.... God, Nature, the wise, the world, preach man, exhort him both by word and deed to the study of himself.”
—Pierre Charron (1541–1603)
