Self Decay is a hardcore punk band from Poughkeepsie, New York, formed in 1997. They released one EP: Beneath the lies on Time Served Records. The young band played shows throughout the Northeastern USA. Best known for their keen ability to effectively combine elements of "old" and "new" styles of hardcore.

The short-lived band broke up during their burgeouning period in 1999 due to their drummer's absence to tour with Hatebreed in the fall of 1999. Drummer went on to play with metal/hardcore bands: Hatebreed, Madball, Skarhead and Rag Men. Guitarist Alex Shenitsky has been working in the music industry since 2002 and held A&R positions at Island/Def Jam and Virgin Records.
