The Pederson family, who donated the farmland in Thousand Oaks, were among many Scandinavian immigrants populating the hills of Thousand Oaks. The Scandinavian influence can continue to be seen in the spring Scandinavian cultural festival and in the names of buildings on campus and local streets, which named for prominent Scandinavians who helped establish CLU.
