Seattle (song)

"Seattle" is a song with music composed by Hugo Montenegro and lyrics written by Jack Keller and Ernie Sheldon. It was used as the theme for the 1968-70 ABC-TV U.S. television show Here Come the Brides. Late in the show's first season, singer Perry Como recorded a version of the song, which became a Top 40 hit for him on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts during the spring of 1969. One of the stars of Here Come the Brides, pop singer Bobby Sherman, also recorded a version of the song, but his version was never released as a single. Two different versions were used on the television series, for both of which Montenegro conducted an in-studio orchestra; the first was instrumental and the second was vocal, with lyrics sung by a musical team called "The New Establishment." (No data was available on The New Establishment as of late November of 2012.)

"Seattle" is sung by the Seattle Sounders FC's supporter group, the Emerald City Supporters during matches, specifically at the kickoff of each half.

Famous quotes containing the word seattle:

The air is precious to the red man, for all things share the same breath—the beast, the tree, the man, they all share the same breath. The white man does not seem to notice the air he breathes. Like a man dying for many days, he is numb to the stench.
