Famous quotes containing the words sea, lion and/or caves:

    Generation on generation, your neck rubbed the windowsill
    of the stall, smoothing the wood as the sea smooths glass.

    Roused by the lash of his own stubborn tail
    Our lion now will foreign foes assail.
    John Dryden (1631–1700)

    A jellyfish and a saurian,
    And caves where the cave men dwell;
    Then a sense of law and beauty,
    And a face turned from the clod—
    Some call it Evolution,
    And others call it God.
    William Herbet Carruth (1859–1929)
