Scribe (rapper) - Personal Struggles and Addictions

Personal Struggles and Addictions

In 2011, Scribe was interviewed on Campbell Live, describing how he became addicted to drugs, alcohol and gambling between 2005 to 2007 following poor sales of his second album, Rhyme Book. His addiction led to his family denying him access to money, to the point that he had to pawn off many of his platinum awards he won from his debut album.

In November 2011 Scribe was arrested in Wellington for disorder and released after being formally warned.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or struggles:

I am in no boastful mood. I shall not do more than I can, and I shall do all I can to save the government, which is my sworn duty as well as my personal inclination. I shall do nothing in malice. What I deal with is too vast for malicious dealing.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

There is a Restlessness springing from the consciousness of power not fully utilized, which must be present wherever there is unused power of whatever kind. This is the restlessness of the germ within the seed, struggling upward and downward towards its proper life. ... it is a striving full of pain, the cutting of tender flesh by the fetters of the captive as he struggles against their pitilessness.
    Anna C. Brackett (1836–1911)
