Screaming Viking - Screaming Viking

Screaming Viking

"Screaming Viking", a fictional made-up cocktail seen in this episode, became an actual cocktail. According to the recipe book The Boston Chef's Table, this cocktail is sold in the Cheers Beacon Hill, a pub paying homage to the show Cheers. The recipe book itself also provides ingredients of this cocktail. Ingredients are "orange-infused rum, dark rum, amaretto, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice".

Colleen Graham from About.com provides different ingredients for the "Screaming Viking" cocktail recipe. They are "vodka, dry vermouth, lime juice, celery stalk, and cucumber spear". A restaurant from Charleston, South Carolina, sells this cocktail different from other variations. Ingredients are "seedless cucumber, cucumber slice, mint leaves, gin, tonic water, and ice". This variation was "tasted and perfected" by the Food & Wine magazine.

Famous quotes containing the words screaming and/or viking:

    While time,
The endless idiot, runs screaming ‘round the world.
    Carson McCullers (1917–1967)

Rice and peas fit into that category of dishes where two ordinary foods, combined together, ignite a pleasure far beyond the capacity of either of its parts alone. Like rhubarb and strawberries, apple pie and cheese, roast pork and sage, the two tastes and textures meld together into the sort of subtle transcendental oneness that we once fantasized would be our experience when we finally found the ideal mate.
