Famous quotes containing the words world, ethnic and/or scouts:
“I teach at Harvard that the world and the heavens, and the stars are all real, but not so damned real, you see.”
—Josiah Royce (18551916)
“Caprice, independence and rebellion, which are opposed to the social order, are essential to the good health of an ethnic group. We shall measure the good health of this group by the number of its delinquents. Nothing is more immobilizing than the spirit of deference.”
—Jean Dubuffet (19011985)
“it pleaseth me when I see through the meadows
The tents and pavilions set up, and great joy have I
When I see oer the campana knights armed and horses arrayed.
And it pleaseth me when the scouts set in flight the folk with
their goods;
And it pleaseth me when I see coming together after them an host of
armed men.”
—Bertrans De Born (fl. 12th century)
