Scottish Women's Premier League Cup

The Scottish Women's Premier League Cup is a cup competition in Scottish women's football, a competition only open to teams in the Scottish Women's Premier League. There are four rounds, including the final.

The competition was launched in 2002 along with the Scottish Women's Premier League. Since 2009, women's football in Scotland has adopted a summer season which now runs from March to November each year, which is why the competition is now played in a single calendar year.

Famous quotes containing the words scottish, women, league and/or cup:

Better wear out shoes than sheets.
—18th-century Scottish proverb, collected in J. Kelly, Complete Collection of Scottish Proverbs (1721)

I’ve always felt that English women had to be approached in a sisterly manner, rather than an erotic manner.
    Anthony Burgess (b. 1917)

He will deliver you from six troubles; in seven no harm shall touch you. In famine he will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and shall not fear destruction when it comes. At destruction and famine you shall laugh, and shall not fear the wild animals of the earth. For you shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the wild animals shall be at peace with you.
    Bible: Hebrew, Job 5:19-23.

I write mainly for the kindly race of women. I am their sister, and in no way exempt from their sorrowful lot. I have drank [sic] the cup of their limitations to the dregs, and if my experience can help any sad or doubtful woman to outleap her own shadow, and to stand bravely out in the sunshine to meet her destiny, whatever it may be, I shall have done well; I have not written this book in vain.
    Amelia E. Barr (1831–1919)
