Scott Road Station - History

History

The Scott Road Station was built in 1990 as the terminus of the first extension of the Expo Line. (This extension included two stations; Scott Road and Columbia in New Westminster).

The station itself is located in an industrial district, but it is also one of the most important transfer points for TransLink passengers. Unlike most stations, which rely on passengers arriving by foot or by bus, this station is adjacent to the largest park and ride lot operated by TransLink, with 1563 spaces. Current daily charge is CAD $3.00.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Well, for us, in history where goodness is a rare pearl, he who was good almost takes precedence over he who was great.
    Victor Hugo (1802–1885)

The history of any nation follows an undulatory course. In the trough of the wave we find more or less complete anarchy; but the crest is not more or less complete Utopia, but only, at best, a tolerably humane, partially free and fairly just society that invariably carries within itself the seeds of its own decadence.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)

The history of the world is none other than the progress of the consciousness of freedom.
    Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)
