2013 Pottsville Mayoral Race
On January 15, 2013, Thomas announced his candidacy for Mayor of the City Of Pottsville, PA. A month later, another Republican, Philip McClintock announced his candidacy for Mayor in the Republican primary election. The democratic candidate, City Councilman James T. Muldowney was unopposed in the May 21, 2013 primary.
Thomas then defeated McClintock by a large 508-299 voter margin to become the Republican nominee.
