Rev. Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., (born 1959) is a Jesuit priest, academic and is the current President of Marquette University since August 1, 2011. Prior to Marquette, Pilarz served as 24th President of the University of Scranton from July 1, 2003 to July 1, 2011, and as a member of the Board of Trustees since 2000.
As an academic, Pilarz is considered an expert on medieval and Renaissance literature, as well as Jesuit education.
