School Reunion (Doctor Who) - Continuity

Continuity

"School Reunion" is the first appearance of Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 since The Five Doctors. It answers the question of where Sarah was left at the end of The Hand of Fear: Aberdeen. The bragging match between Sarah and Rose also references other stories: Sarah has met the Daleks, "lots of robots", anti-matter monsters, mummies, dinosaurs, and the Loch Ness Monster, whereas Rose has met ghosts, "Slitheen in Downing Street", the Dalek Emperor, gas-masked zombies, and a werewolf. The phrase "Slitheen in Downing Street" was later used in Revenge of the Slitheen by Sarah.

Famous quotes containing the word continuity:

Every generation rewrites the past. In easy times history is more or less of an ornamental art, but in times of danger we are driven to the written record by a pressing need to find answers to the riddles of today.... In times of change and danger when there is a quicksand of fear under men’s reasoning, a sense of continuity with generations gone before can stretch like a lifeline across the scary present and get us past that idiot delusion of the exceptional Now that blocks good thinking.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

If you associate enough with older people who do enjoy their lives, who are not stored away in any golden ghettos, you will gain a sense of continuity and of the possibility for a full life.
    Margaret Mead (1901–1978)

There is never a beginning, there is never an end, to the inexplicable continuity of this web of God, but always circular power returning into itself.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
