Sports and Extracurricular Activities

The school hosts an annual Sports Day at a stadium. The secondary school does a march past as well as cheerleading routines and have their own marching band. There are sports events which include both track and field events.

Competition between sports houses is fierce, with a major portion of points allotted to performances in the March Past and Cheerleading routines. The house which wins these events usually ends up winning the overall house championship. A Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year are also elected, and they usually open the Sports Day with the lighting of a flame.

The school celebrates Hari Raya, Deepavali, Christmas and Chinese New Year, the major festivals of Malaysia. There are cultural dances and events held in the school compound on these days.

Famous quotes containing the words sports and/or activities:

In the past, it seemed to make sense for a sportswriter on sabbatical from the playpen to attend the quadrennial hawgkilling when Presidential candidates are chosen, to observe and report upon politicians at play. After all, national conventions are games of a sort, and sports offers few spectacles richer in low comedy.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)

That is the real pivot of all bourgeois consciousness in all countries: fear and hate of the instinctive, intuitional, procreative body in man or woman. But of course this fear and hate had to take on a righteous appearance, so it became moral, said that the instincts, intuitions and all the activities of the procreative body were evil, and promised a reward for their suppression. That is the great clue to bourgeois psychology: the reward business.
