Savognin has a population (as of 31 December 2011) of 977. As of 2008, 14.3% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has decreased at a rate of -2.8%.

As of 2000, the gender distribution of the population was 55.0% male and 45.0% female. The age distribution, as of 2000, in Savognin is; 49 people or 15.9% of the population are between 0 to 9 years old. 29 people or 9.4% are 10 to 14, and 14 people or 4.5% are 15 to 19. Of the adult population, 24 people or 7.8% of the population are between 20 to 29 years old. 37 people or 12.0% are 30 to 39, 39 people or 12.7% are 40 to 49, and 36 people or 11.7% are 50 to 59.
