Saudi Railway Authority

The Saudi Railway Authority was established by the government of Saudi Arabia to manage the country's railway system.

The first line was established in the 1960s to run between Riyadh and Dammam. The network will be expanded with the Saudi Landbridge Project and Haramain High Speed Rail Project.

Famous quotes containing the words railway and/or authority:

Her personality had an architectonic quality; I think of her when I see some of the great London railway termini, especially St. Pancras, with its soot and turrets, and she overshadowed her own daughters, whom she did not understand—my mother, who liked things to be nice; my dotty aunt. But my mother had not the strength to put even some physical distance between them, let alone keep the old monster at emotional arm’s length.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

I believe I’m a better authority than anybody else in America on my own wife. I have never known a person with a stronger sense of right and wrong in my life—ever.
    Bill Clinton (b. 1946)
