Subsequent elections to the city council took place on Thursday, 2nd May 2013. The city is divided into eight wards, each with two or three councillors, as follows:

The council consists of twenty-three councillors. Seven wards return three councillors and one ward (St Mark's and Bishopdown) elects two.

  • Vanessa Jo Broom was elected as a Liberal Democrat candidate but changed to a Conservative Party representative at the first council meeting.
