Famous quotes containing the words saint, vincent and/or college:

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

Set the foot down with distrust on the crust of the world—it is thin.
    —Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892–1950)

I do not think that a Physician should be admitted into the College till he could bring proofs of his having cured, in his own person, at least four incurable distempers.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
