The population of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was estimated at 103,537 in July 2012. 24% were between 0 and 14 years of age (male 12,509/ female 12,306), 67.8% 15 to 64 (male 36,148/ female 34,072), and 8.2% 65 or over (male 3,892/ female 4,610) as of 2012. The population growth rate was estimated as -0.313% in 2012, with a birth rate of 14.36 births/1,000, a death rate of 7.02 deaths/1,000, and a net migration rate of -10.47 migrant(s)/1,000 population. The fertility rate was 1.89 children born/woman.

As of 2012, the infant mortality rate was 13.86 deaths/1,000 live births. Life expectancy at birth as of 2000 was 72.48 years for males and 73.36 for females, giving an overall average of 74.39 years.

Saint Vincentian(s) or Vincentian(s) comprise the following ethnic groups: Black 66%, East Indians 6%, Carib Amerindian 2% (limited to population of primarily Caribbean descent), Mixed Race 19%, European 4%, Other 3%. Primarily languages spoken are English, French patois. The religious makeup is: Anglican 47%, Methodist 28%, Hindu 13%, Islam 6% Seventh-day Adventist and Protestant 6%.

As of 1970, 96% of the population aged 15 and over had attended school.
