Saint Paul City Conference

The Saint Paul City Conference is the conference for seven high schools in the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Much like the divisions in professional sports, the Saint Paul City Conference is one of many in the state that divides schools in close proximity into different conferences. It is the second oldest conference in the state behind the Minneapolis City Conference. The conference officially began on Friday, October 28, 1898 when Central High School and Mechanic Arts High School played the first football game between the schools.

Famous quotes containing the words saint, city and/or conference:

    A saint about to fall,
The stained flats of heaven hit and razed
To the kissed kite hems of his shawl....
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

A city is a place where there is no need to wait for next week to get the answer to a question, to taste the food of any country, to find new voices to listen to and familiar ones to listen to again.
    Margaret Mead (1901–1978)

Politics is still the man’s game. The women are allowed to do the chores, the dirty work, and now and then—but only occasionally—one is present at some secret conference or other. But it’s not the rule. They can go out and get the vote, if they can and will; they can collect money, they can be grateful for being permitted to work. But that is all.
    Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876–1958)
