Saint Augustine School (Laredo, Texas)

St. Augustine School is a school in Laredo, Texas, USA; located on 1300 Galveston Street. It was established in 1928. A new building was recently built for grades 6–8, increasing to an enrollment of 485+.

Its name was St. Augustine Elementary, but because a new middle school was added, the name was cut to St. Augustine School, according to former principal Olga P. Gentry.

St. Augustine is next to its sister school, Saint Augustine High School, which altogether, the schools have a total enrollment of about 1,100+. Both schools announce their jamaica festival every year.

The school has many extracurricular activities, such as the National Junior Honor Society, Math Counts, sports, and also other educational activities. Its middle school students attend the new building, and have eight periods (classes) daily.

The school also participates in the WBCA parade every February in honor of George Washington.

Its uniforms are sold in various styles and in various stores in Laredo.

The principal is currently Silvia Cortez, after Principal Gentry became the principal for the high school.
