Community and General Information
The people of Sahowala are well educated, with a literacy rate of 80%. However, female literacy rate is low, about 65%. There is High School for boys and Higher Secondary School for Girls along many other private schools and almost four madrassas for teaching Quranic education. The basic caste system is still active and diverse, and national elections are also based on caste system (Bradari). Mainly people belongs to Cheema, Syed, Arain, Wariach, Rajpoot (Migrated Muhajirs), Mughals, Gujjars, Bhatti, Minhas and others. It is a quiet town with people of different religions, sects, castes and political views.
