Career Biography

After a four-year tour of duty in the Israeli Army, including participation in Operation Desert Storm, Sagi resumed his weightlifting and bodybuilding interests, capturing two "Mr. Israel" titles in the process, as well as his college education, graduating with a degree in physical education and a minor in nutrition from the University of Central Florida. Kalev has earned his certifications in some of the top fitness and nutrition fields from PROPTA as Certified Nutrition Specialist CNS*, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, PROPTA Master Professional Personal Trainer, and Certified Metabolic Typing Advisor. Sagi Kalev is the Senior Director of PROPTA, the World Leading Personal Trainers Certification agency certifying personal trainers and nutritionists in Texas. Kalev was recently inducted in the PROPTA hall of fame for his dedication and loyalty to the PROPTA and the fitness industry.

In 1996, while living in California, Kalev began modeling after he was discovered in a local gym. He began to work with American photographer, Martin Ryter, who put him on the cover of Men's Workout magazine and inside several other bodybuilding-fitness publications. Kalev has also made guest appearances on Baywatch and The Young and the Restless television series.

Kalev's modeling aspirations received another major boost the same year when Spencer Gifts, one of the United States' largest retail gift store chains, signed him to a four-year contract as their spokesmodel. Kalev's distinctive images are still marketed by Spencer Gifts in the form of greeting cards, gift bags and key chains.

Kalev's final bodybuilding competitions were local shows in 1998 and 1999, respectively, in Texas, where he won the middleweight class at the 1998 NPC Southwest USA Bodybuilding Championships and the light-heavyweight title at the 1999 NPC Lone Star Bodybuilding Classic. Sagi returned to physique modeling in spring, 2003. Modeling offers came in quickly, including a contract with Impact Nutrition and Lifewave as a representative and spokesperson for the companies. He has appeared on four Muscle & Fitness covers as well as covers of Hardcore Muscle, Iron Man Men's Workout, and 27 times on the cover of Health and Fitness Magazine.

Partnering with Beachbody in 2011, Kalev developed and trained BODY BEAST, a body-building program focusing on technique and building a better physical foundation that was released in June 2012.

In 2012 Kalev signed with the promotional agency Promote on Purpose, a marketing and public relations firm dedicated to building and promoting personal brand platforms of individuals who have an expert and purpose-driven message.
