The term "RER" (Réseau express régional), used in France and western Switzerland, Servizio Ferroviario Suburbano (linee S) in Italy, SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska) in Warsaw and Tricity in Poland are very similar to the S-Bahn. Famous quotes containing the words similar and/or system:

The question that’s probably uppermost in the child’s mind is: Why do my parents want to have a baby? Don’t they love me? And if they love me, why do they need another one? Aren’t I enough? Imagine for a minute yourself in a similar situation. Your husband comes home and says: “Honey I love you so much, I’ve decided to go get another wife so I can have two.” How would you feel?
    Lawrence Balter (20th century)

The system was breaking down. The one who had wandered alone past so many happenings and events began to feel, backing up along the primal vein that led to his center, the beginning of hiccup that would, if left to gather, explode the center to the extremities of life, the suburbs through which one makes one’s way to where the country is.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
