Russian Spaniel - Health

Health

As with all long-eared spaniels, Russian Spaniels require checks to prevent ear infections. The breed does have an inclination to gain weight easily, which can be prevented by controlling food intake. The Russian Spaniel can be prone to food allergies, which are usually identified at between 1 to 5 months of age with the most common allergens being chicken and carrots. There are no other breed-specific health issues currently known.

Famous quotes containing the word health:

Mens sana in men’s sauna, in the flush
Of health and toilets, private and corporal glee,
    Anthony Hecht (b. 1923)

The philanthropist too often surrounds mankind with the remembrance of his own cast- off griefs as an atmosphere, and calls it sympathy. We should impart our courage, and not our despair, our health and ease, and not our disease, and take care that this does not spread by contagion.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    Youth no less becomes
The light and careless livery that it wears
Than settled age his sables and his weeds,
    Importing health and graveness.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
