Russian School of Mathematics

The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) is located at 200 Wells Ave. in Newton, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is designed as an after school program that provides mathematical education for children attending K–12 of public and private schools. The school is meant as a place where children can advance in mathematics beyond the traditional school curriculum. The founder of RSM is Inessa Rifkin and co-founder is Irene Khavinson. The focus of RSM is primarily mathematics. The high-school level classes offer preparation for standardized tests such as the SAT, SAT II and AP exams. Each class usually involves intensive reinforcement of the topic using many examples and problems. Accompanied by classwork, all students are given homework to reinforce what they have learned.

The school has 15 branches in five states, and also runs an overnight camp in Sunapee, New Hampshire. An RSM affiliate has also opened in Framingham, Massachusetts under the name of MetroWest School of Mathematics.
