New Statutes For The Diocese
The Diocesan Statutes which had been developed by Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh between 1979 and 2001 to secure the spiritual and administrative independence of the Diocese were cancelled by a Decision of the Diocesan Assembly on 26 June 2010 and new Statutes were agreed. There has been criticism that the new Statutes contravene the Statutes of the Russian Orthodox Church as well as Orthodox Canon Law relating to the independence of Diocesan Hierarchs.
