Political Representation
The member of parliament for Rushcliffe is the Conservative, Kenneth Clarke. As of the May 2010 General Election, Rushcliffe is one of only three Tory-held constituencies in Nottinghamshire.
50 councillors were elected at the borough council election in May 2011. There are 36 Conservatives, giving them control of the council. There are also 6 Liberal Democrats, 5 from Labour, 2 Greens and 1 Independent. The next election is due in May 2015.
