Death

Virchow died of heart failure in Berlin. The funeral was held in the Assembly Room of the Magistracy in the Berlin Town Hall, which was decorated with laurels, palms and flowers. He was buried in the St. Matthews Cemetery in Schöneberg, Berlin.
