Royal Exchange Square - Future Plans

Future Plans

The building that sits adjacent to the GoMA went under development and refurbishment to accommodate a new retail unit following Borders Group closure. Rumours insinuated that AllSaints and Abercrombie & Fitch both looked into a lease for the building - dividing it into two retail units to accommodate both stores. The window covers were unveiled to reveal suspended rows of vintage sewing machines, white painted exposed brickwork and reclaimed furniture. These interior details have been found in previous AllSaints branches, and are very fitting with the brand. AllSaints' Ingram Street and Mitchell Lane branches both closed and moved into the Buchanan Street building in May 2010, leaving the upper floors vacant.

The rear of the building is currently being fitted out as a new Zizzi Restaurant with the entrance opening onto Royal Exchange Square opening February 11th as the flagship Scottish Zizzi branch.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or plans:

Common sense should tell us that reading is the ultimate weapon—destroying ignorance, poverty and despair before they can destroy us. A nation that doesn’t read much doesn’t know much. And a nation that doesn’t know much is more likely to make poor choices in the home, the marketplace, the jury box and the voting booth...The challenge, therefore, is to convince future generations of children that carrying a book is more rewarding than carrying guns.
    Jim Trelease (20th century)

Architect. One who drafts a plan of your house, and plans a draft of your money.
    Ambrose Bierce (1842–1914)
