Television Appearance
In 1954, the popular television program This Is Your Life with host Ralph Edwards recounted his wartime events with close family appearing with him. Kennedy, did not appear, as only immediate family and those who interacted in Davenport’s wartime adventures were invited.

Famous quotes containing the words television and/or appearance:
“So by all means lets have a television show quick and long, even if the commercial has to be delivered by a man in a white coat with a stethoscope hanging around his neck, selling ergot pills. After all the public is entitled to what it wants, isnt it? The Romans knew that and even they lasted four hundred years after they started to putrefy.”
—Raymond Chandler (18881959)
“To educate the wise man, the State exists; and with the appearance of the wise man, the State expires. The appearance of character makes the state unnecessary. The wise man is the State.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
