Circular Chain Dances
A circular chain dance, also called a circle dance, is a type of folk dance where dancers are connected in a circular chain. Various connections are possible; among these are hand-to-hand and hands-on-shoulders.
Examples are Sardinian ballu tundu, numerous Balkan folk dances (kolo, oro, horo), Russian khorovod and Romanian hora.

Famous quotes containing the words circular, chain and/or dances:
“Oh Lolita, you are my girl, as Vee was Poes and Bea Dantes, and what little girl would not like to whirl in a circular skirt and scanties?”
—Vladimir Nabokov (18991977)
“By this unprincipled facility of changing the state as often, and as much, and in as many ways as there are floating fancies or fashions, the whole chain and continuity of the commonwealth would be broken. No one generation could link with the other. Men would become little better than the flies of a summer.”
—Edmund Burke (17291797)
“Now we sing, and do tiny dances on the kitchen floor.
Our whole body is like a harbor at dawn;
We know that our master has left us for the day.”
—Robert Bly (b. 1926)
