Rosie Ribbons

Rosie Ribbons

Rosemary "Rosie" Ribbons (born 22 July 1983) is an Australian-born, UK-raised singer-songwriter. In the early 1980s, her English father (from North London), Ronald, visited Australia. He met and married Rosie's mother Carol, and the family moved to Pontardawe near Swansea when Rosie was four, to be near Ron's parents who had moved from London to South Wales for work prior to retiring.

Ribbons reportedly wanted to be a pop singer ever since she was eight years old. A big fan of Mariah Carey, she learned to mimic her singing, and also started to write her own songs. She lost interest during her final school year, passing only two GCSEs, English and Drama.

Famous quotes containing the words rosie and/or ribbons:

Yet fairest blossome do not slight
That age which you may know so soon:
The rosie Morn resignes her light,
And milder glory to the Noon:
And then what wonder shall you do,
Whose dawning beauty warms us so?
    Edmund Waller (1606–1687)

After your baby arrives, you yourself may feel like something of a present, albeit clumsy, wrapped in unmatched ribbons and bows, but new. Untried. Untested.
    Sally Placksin (20th century)
