Rorschach Test (band)

Rorschach Test (band)

Rorschach Test is an American industrial band from Denver, Colorado, formed by James Baker after he was expelled from the church. Baker was a young priest based in Denver until being defrocked in the early 1990s for his allegedly heretical questioning of church doctrine. He began writing music and lyrics after leaving the church. Soon after, he met guitarist Benjamin Anderson (musician), from Yuma, Arizona, and the two began writing songs together. Baker and band members began composing "metallic, industrial songs with a definite debt to Ministry and Skinny Puppy but including elements of conventional metal."

Rorschach Test formed in Denver, Colorado, and later relocated to Seattle where they were signed to the now defunct label Slip Disc Records out of Chicago, Illinois. They enjoyed a successful career during Seattle's lively music scene in the 90's. They toured North America playing shows with the likes of Korn, Type O Negative, Genitorturers, and Queensrÿche.

After breaking up in the early 2000s, the band has reformed, and is in the works recording a new album, American EyeDull.

Famous quotes containing the words rorschach and/or test:

There had been no thievery or venality. We had all simply wandered into a situation unthinkingly, trying to protect ourselves from what we saw as a political problem. Now, suddenly, it was like a Rorschach ink blot: others, looking at our actions, pointed out a pattern that we ourselves had not seen.
    Richard M. Nixon (1913–1994)

The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)
