Kansas City Chiefs

His role with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2005 was mostly a backup role at halfback to Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson, and backup to fullback Tony Richardson. Prior to the 2006 season, Richardson signed with the Minnesota Vikings, giving the starting fullback role to Cruz. Famous quotes containing the words kansas city, kansas, city and/or chiefs:

Kansas City is lost; I am here!
—A. Edward Sullivan. Professor Quail (W.C. Fields)

Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.... Now I know we’re not in Kansas.
    Noel Langley (1898–1981)

The two elements the traveler first captures in the big city are extrahuman architecture and furious rhythm. Geometry and anguish. At first glance, the rhythm may be confused with gaiety, but when you look more closely at the mechanism of social life and the painful slavery of both men and machines, you see that it is nothing but a kind of typical, empty anguish that makes even crime and gangs forgivable means of escape.
    Federico García Lorca (1898–1936)

If you tie a horse to a stake, do you expect he will grow fat? If you pen an Indian up on a small spot of earth, and compel him to stay there, he will not be contented, nor will he grow and prosper. I have asked some of the great white chiefs where they get their authority to say to the Indian that he shall stay in one place, while he sees white men going where they please. They can not tell me.
    Chief Joseph (c. 1840–1904)
