Activism

Whyte's work as a disability-rights activist led him to found The National Task Force for Disability and the Arts in 1978 and brought him in advisory capacities onto boards and committees that included the New York State Council on the Arts, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the President's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.
