Roger J. Stone, Jr. is an American political consultant, lobbyist and strategist, noted for his use of opposition research, usually for candidates of the Republican Party. He is currently a member of the Libertarian Party, recently working on Gary Johnson's run for president in 2012.
In 1990, The New York Times described him as a "renowned infighter" and during the 2004 United States Presidential Campaign, CBS News described Stone as a "veteran Republican strategist." His own view of himself is as "a GOP hitman."
