Roger Daltrey - Throat Surgeries

Throat Surgeries

In 1978, during the recording of the Who's album Who Are You, Daltrey had throat surgery to remove nodules after an infection. In December 2010, Daltrey was found to have developed vocal chord dysplasia and consulted Dr. Steven M. Zeitels, Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center and professor at Harvard Medical School. Zeitels performed laser surgery to remove the possibly pre-cancerous growth. Both surgeries were considered successful.

    She by my side
Stared at the Moon; and then I knew he knew.
And then he smiled at her; to him ‘twas funny—
Her calm steel eyes, her earth-old throat of honey!
