In 2007-2008, Rocklin High School won section titles in Boys Basketball and then came up one game short of the state playoffs, losing to Fairfield. In 2008-2009, Rocklin Boys Basketball won the Nor-Cal Championships. They continued onto the state-wide Division 2 Championship, losing to Eisenhower. This is the farthest the storied Rocklin High Basketball program has gone.The Boys Soccer team also won Sections. In 2008 the Boys Golf team went to state for the second year in a row after being the first ever team in Rocklin High School history to win the Nor-Cal Championship. The 2006-2007 Boys Baseball Team won the Sac Joaquin section DII title over fellow Sierra Foothill League member, Granite Bay. The Boys Golf Team won the Section title as well that year. The RHS varsity boys soccer team won the 2005, 2007, and 2009 Section Championship. During the fall 2005 season, the RHS Varsity football team progressed all the way to the division finals, playing against Del Oro. 2005 was the first year in RHS history that the football team made it to the playoffs.

The RHS wrestling team experienced some local success in 2002 when the team won the Section Dual tournament. That year, RHS sent three wrestlers to the state tournament (Eric Morgan (119), Eliot Kelley (160), and Michael Gomez (275)).

In 2005, the RHS cross-country team placed 4th at the Division II State Meet.
In 2009, the RHS cross-country team placed 16th at the Division II State Meet.

Former RHS sprinter Greg Lott now serves as head track and field coach for the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York.

In 2009, the RHS boys basketball team played in the California State Championship game.

In 2009, once again the RHS boys baseball team won the Sac Joaquin section DII championship over league rival Granite Bay, who they also beat in their last section title in 06-07.

On December 11, 2009, the varsity football team beat rivals Del Oro for a rematch to claim the Sac-Joaquin Section title. It is the first section title in football in school history. Rocklin went on to play Servite in Division II State Championships and ended up runner up in Division II.
