Construction and Expansion

The City of Rock Hill will add and additional 1,000 ft (304 m) to the Rock Hill/York County Airport Taxiway and Runway. The construction on the runway and taxiway started in the year of 2008 and will be completed by the year of 2012. Other expansions to the airport include a perimeter road and more conventional hangars, they will be completed by 2020. The reason for this expansion is to relieve air traffic from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and expand tourism for the city of Rock Hill.
