Rochester Grammar School - Sixth Form

Sixth Form

In 1999 a new sixth form block, the Peggy Saxby Suite, was opened, with a large common room, a silent study area and several classrooms. This has recently changed and the common room is now home to a large silent study, the Independent Learning Centre, and the silent study has been transformed into a music technology room. During study periods, pupils must stay in the Independent Learning Centre. The common room is now in the Mary Matthews Studio. The sixth form now includes a number of male pupils from other schools. The current year twelve has the largest number of male pupils the school has ever seen.

Famous quotes containing the words sixth and/or form:

The elephant, not only the largest but the most intelligent of animals, provides us with an excellent example. It is faithful and tenderly loving to the female of its choice, mating only every third year and then for no more than five days, and so secretly as never to be seen, until, on the sixth day, it appears and goes at once to wash its whole body in the river, unwilling to return to the herd until thus purified. Such good and modest habits are an example to husband and wife.
    St. Francis De Sales (1567–1622)

Is civilization only a higher form of idolatry, that man should bow down to a flesh-brush, to flannels, to baths, diet, exercise, and air?
    Mary Baker Eddy (1821–1910)
