Famous quotes containing the words robert, manuel and/or cook:

Of the wheel as it rolls unrelentingly over
A cow plodding through car-traffic on a street in Iasi,
And over the haunts of Robert Pinsky’s mother and father
And wife and children and his sweet self
    Robert Pinsky (b. 1940)

And Manuel embraced his mother and they laughed together: Délira’s laugh sounded surprisingly young; that was because she hadn’t really had the chance to make it heard; life was just not happy enough for that. No, she never had time to use it; she had kept it fresh as can be, like a birdsong in an old nest.
    Jacques Roumain (1907–1945)

To cook a pig, apply heat; to win a lawsuit, apply money.
    Chinese proverb.
