Famous quotes containing the word teaching:
“If we focus exclusively on teaching our children to read, write, spell, and count in their first years of life, we turn our homes into extensions of school and turn bringing up a child into an exercise in curriculum development. We should be parents first and teachers of academic skills second.”
—Neil Kurshan (20th century)
“What is this? A new teaching -with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”
—Bible: New Testament, Mark 1:27.
Of Jesus after he had exorcized an unclean spirit.
“... teaching to me was anathema, chiefly because it would condemn me to a world of petticoats.”
—Agnes E. Meyer (18871970)
