2008 Arrest
On September 16, 2008, Clarkson and his wife were arrested in their home town of Anderson, South Carolina and each was charged with criminal domestic violence. In a court hearing on September 17, Clarkson pleaded not guilty and accused his wife of becoming hooked on drugs he said he had given to her. Clarkson stated that he had given his wife cocaine because of "chronic fatigue." A few days later, Clarkson was again arrested and was charged with violating a trespass order, unlawful use of the "911" emergency phone service, and first-degree harassment.

Famous quotes containing the word arrest:
“The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artists way of scribbling Kilroy was here on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.”
—William Faulkner (18971962)
