RMK Engineering College is one of the top engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, India, governed by the Lakshmikanthammal Educational Trust. It is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and accredited by AICTE. It is a Telugu minority institution.
The college opened in 1995 with three departments -- Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The college was originally located in Kavaraipettai, in Gummidipoondi Taluk of Thiruvallur district. In addition to offering a bachelor of engineering degree, the college also offers MCA, ME in Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Design, Product Design and Development, and an MBA program. The campus is presently about 100 acres (0.40 km2). The college has a fleet of 80 buses for transportation of students.Here for first year students the no of students per section is 40 though as per regulation of anna university it is 60 per section .
