River Falls Mall

River Falls Mall is a shopping center in Clarksville, Indiana, on Lewis and Clark Parkway (formerly State Road 131). From its opening in 1990 until 2006, the center was an enclosed mall, with 762,000 square feet (70,800 m2) of gross leasable area. It originally comprised multiple entertainment venues and retail. After losing the majority of its tenants, River Falls Mall was redeveloped in 2006 as a power center, comprising Dick's Sporting Goods, Old Time Pottery and Bass Pro Shops, which supplanted most of the enclosed mall proper. The property is owned and managed by General Growth Properties of Chicago.

Famous quotes containing the words river, falls and/or mall:

    The river sweats
    Oil and tar
    The barges drift
    With the turning tide
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

    The hand holds no chalk
And each part of the whole falls off
And cannot know it knew, except
Here and there, in cold pockets
Of remembrance, whispers out of time.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

Finishing schools in the fifties were a good place to store girls for a few years before marrying them off, a satisfactory rest stop between college weekends spent husband hunting. It was a haven for those of us adept at styling each other’s hair, playing canasta, and chain smoking Pall Mall extra-long cigarettes.
    Barbara Howar (b. 1934)
