Rising Paper Mill

Rising Paper Mill is a historic factory in the village of Housatonic in the town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

The mill was built in 1873 and added to the National Historic Register of Historic Places in 1975.

In 2008, the facility was purchased by Hazen Paper, which announced plans to manufacture multi-ply laminated paper for packaging.

Famous quotes containing the words rising, paper and/or mill:

... such is the horrible idea that I entertain respecting a life of servitude, that if I conceived of there being no possibility of my rising above the condition of servant, I would gladly hail death as a welcome messenger.
    Maria Stewart (1803–1879)

Two heavy trestles, and a board
Where Sato’s gift, a changeless sword,
    By pen and paper lies,
    That it may moralise
My days out of their aimlessness.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

Mathematics may be compared to a mill of exquisite workmanship, which grinds your stuff to any degree of fineness; but, nevertheless, what you get out depends on what you put in; and as the grandest mill in the world will not extract wheat flour from peascods, so pages of formulae will not get a definite result out of loose data.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–1895)
