Rieko Kodama - Education

Education

Born in Kanagawa, Japan, she began her education undecided between art and archeology. She opted for art and enrolled in a trade school for advertising design. In 1984, a fellow student brought her to work at Sega.

Influence of archeology can be seen in several games that she has worked on, including Phantasy Star and Skies Of Arcadia, where the player often has to travel and discover past civilizations.

Famous quotes containing the word education:

I would urge that the yeast of education is the idea of excellence, and the idea of excellence comprises as many forms as there are individuals, each of whom develops his own image of excellence. The school must have as one of its principal functions the nurturing of images of excellence.
    Jerome S. Bruner (20th century)

Columbus stood in his age as the pioneer of progress and enlightenment. The system of universal education is in our age the most prominent and salutary feature of the spirit of enlightenment, and it is peculiarly appropriate that the schools be made by the people the center of the day’s demonstration. Let the national flag float over every schoolhouse in the country and the exercises be such as shall impress upon our youth the patriotic duties of American citizenship.
    Benjamin Harrison (1833–1901)

In that reconciling of God and Mammon which Mrs. Grantly had carried on so successfully in the education of her daughter, the organ had not been required, and had become withered, if not defunct, through want of use.
    Anthony Trollope (1815–1882)
